Back in an easier time
I would’ve seen the snow and cheered
But now I see the icy streets
And my winter blues appear
The daylight’s fading away
And even though it’s almost here
Christmas seems further away this year

I watch as all the local kids go sledding
They’re freezing cold, but they’re having so much fun
And That care-free bliss
Is something I’m forgetting
And I just don’t need another hill to climb up
Getting out of bed is already too tough

More friends of mine will not be at my party
Some left this town and others just left me

But then I step outside
And notice all the pretty lights
And nothing else exists but this winter night
And everything is pure
And I feel so content
Til I remember that I’m a nervous wreck...and I say
